research day
Working on a documentary requires passion, an inquisitive nature, dedication and lots of INFORMATION…
I’ve found my hypothesis and now I have to prove it, but first I need some context.. So I headed to my local history room.
…this is the part of the movie where I trek to the nearest library to find the creepy librarian who leads me into a dungeon lined with towers of...

A tour of the editing suite at the Jacob Burns Media Arts lab where I spend many evenings working on my documentary. Slowly but surely!
So I gave in. I got a mobile device with the ability to access the grid…
Each year we get closer to a Hollywood sci-fi reality: tablets, touch screen everything, video calls. But with all of the good comes the bad, like how easy it is to be tracked. I already see the the signs in data mining and personalized adverts that tailor our Internet experience.
It was this pinpointing capability...
mackinsweblog asked: Hey there - cool blog you got going! Hope you don't mind if I use some of your content later down the road, great stuff. New follower, can you please follow me back?

Day after XMAS and I'm back to work...!!/Bunni the...
I have come to terms with the fact that I am on a track to becoming a work-a-holic… and a future investigative journalist…
My sister gave me an awesomely useful gift… a spy pen complete with audio/video/photo capabilities.
it brings me back to my Harriet the Spy days… I believe I started to keep a journal because of her character … now I am on my way to being...

closer to god
I do not believe in god.
That being said, I am getting closer to believing, which is to say I feel a connectivity to what surrounds me and my past experiences.
Allow me to analogize…
I learned a word yesterday ::proffer:: I looked it up, the next day, the word came into play again after 24 years without a previous encounter… Has that ever happened to you? In little ways I believe...

Heavy D, one of the many seeds of modern hip hop comes home to Westchester to be buried. It was an interesting moment to be apart of. Many celebrities came to pay their last respects. And as the writing on the wall shows, Heavy D’s memory will live on in the heart of his fellow Mount Vernonites.
RIP
Much Respect!

You ever get that feeling...
when your interior voice says “sleep a little longer” or “do it tomorrow”
Right after that happens I say “No! I can do it”
I know I can…
…well, this happens to me everyday at all times.
Confidence is tiring.

Fellowship: kinda freaking out
Yesterday was the second day of my fellowship. Since I haven’t written about it until now I will give a little background…
Earlier this year, an unknown sequence of events led me to discover classes being held at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, NY. One in particular caught my eye and since I was partially broke, I took advantage of the scholarships available for...

So I keep on meeting strangers… AWESOME!!!!
This time I was in Yonkers
Location: Untermeyer Park
Stranger: Matt Cleary
After Hurricane Irene came to visit, she left a glorious sky to reflect upon. Untermeyer is a great place to do so. And I was not the only one who thought so…
Fast forward through an impromptu dinner party and a few weeks later and we find ourselves in Hastings,...

Rock the Bells 2011
I haven’t been to many concerts in my life… just a handful of shows and plenty of small venue gatherings so I couldn’t miss the chance to be in the presence of classic hip hop pioneers.
Actually going to the show was a last minute decision. I knew I couldn’t have a regular boring Saturday knowing Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, and Nas were going to be within a few miles of...

For every era that ends, another is just beginning. Are you creating something in your garage that is going to change the world? If so, we can’t wait to meet you.

Dancers
I live where dancers dance.
At the gate are those willing to get down though they don’t know how.
They live next to those who know how but choose not to.
Where do you live?

Rule #1. One must make time for goals to flourish.

I could find a movie, hang out, sleep… but I’m going to read, write and think this time. Until 1:01am tomorrow morning. I will post any fruits of my labor.
